Our Story
Our Story: If We Say We Give, We Show the Receipt
I searched. I didn't find it. So I built it.
What was missing wasn't just a shirt. It was proof.
My name is Teresa. I'm a 63-year-old Hispanic woman from NY.
I'm Not Speaking as an Outsider
• I was bullied in my school years, and that feeling of being targeted followed me into adulthood
• Depression and anxiety are part of my story
• Addiction has impacted my family
• I've supported loved ones through cancer, then fought it myself with surgery
• I've lost people I love to suicide — including my father at 82
• I'm a survivor of both a suicide attempt and domestic violence
• I know grief not as a concept, but as a daily reality
And for the battles I haven't lived personally, I've loved someone who has.
I understand you.
The Question No One Could Answer
I kept walking past "awareness" shirts at the mall. Pink ribbons. Puzzle pieces. Semicolons. All of them asking me to buy, to care, to post.
So I asked a simple question: "Where does the money actually go?"
The answer was always the same.
No nonprofit name. No receipt. No measurable impact.
Just three words: "a portion of proceeds."
That wasn't good enough. Not for me. Not for you.
So We Built Something Different
Wear What You Stand For was born from one non-negotiable rule:
If we say we give, we post the receipt.
Every design supports a real cause. Every drop names the nonprofit partner. Every campaign ends with a public receipt showing exactly how much went where. No vague promises. No hidden math.
Just proof.
What We Stand For
- Radical Transparency: You see the donation receipt. Always.
- Real Stories: These aren't trends. They're battles people are fighting right now — including us.
- No Performative Anything: If it doesn't create real impact, we don't make it.
This brand isn't about me. It's about all of us who are tired of awareness without action. Who want to wear something that actually did something.
You've lived it. You've lost to it. You've survived it.
Now you can wear it — and prove it.
Welcome to Wear What You Stand For.
Women-Owned. Mission-Driven. Receipt-Driven.
This is a women-owned small business. That shapes everything.
The causes in this shop weren't picked by a marketing team. They were picked by survivors, caregivers, advocates, and grieving families — including me — who asked: "What fight do you wish people saw?"
Your answer became our collections.
How We're Different
$3 from every shirt goes directly to a vetted 501(c)(3) nonprofit partner.
Not 10% of profit. Not "a portion." $3. Every time.
When you buy a Mental Health shirt, $3 goes to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) EIN 43-1201653.
When you buy a Veterans shirt, $3 goes to Wounded Warrior Project EIN 20-2370934.
We donate within 7 days of each sale and post the receipts on our Impact Page within 5 business days. Organization name, date, amount, receipt image. No hiding.

The Real, Messy, Ongoing Fights
We don't do polished awareness months with celebrity spokespeople.
We do Tuesday nights when the support group meets.
We do the 3am crisis text.
We do the wig for the alopecia patient who can't afford one.
We do the gas card for the mom driving to chemo.
These fights don't get a month on the calendar. They deserve twelve.
If You Found This Shop...
You probably already know what you stand for.
Maybe it's your story. Maybe it's someone you love. Maybe it's someone you lost.
This is just the place where you get to wear it — and fund help for the next person fighting the same battle.
Because if one person sees your shirt and feels less alone for 10 seconds, that's worth it.
And if your $3 helps fund one counseling session, one support group, one wig — that's worth it too.
Women-owned. Mission-driven. Made with purpose.
